Many of us were moved by the movie “The Way”, about the Camino Walk in Spain which we watched in the Sanctuary almost ten years ago. So inspired were we that one of us went on to walk the Camino starting September 6th, 2023, and another ended it on September 6th, 2024. Another of us was inspired to begin a Health Watchers group in February 2016.
We walked the sidewalks in the neighborhood of Sharon Hope United Church and experienced our first blizzard walk on December 15th, 2016! Our walks continue, including walking the labyrinths at the former Wellness Center next door to Hope House and at the Marylake Retreat Centre at Roches Point on Lake Simcoe.
We first walked the Sharon Creek Trail behind our church on August 6th, 2020, and it became our favorite walk in all seasons. Thus, we want to share with everyone in our church community and beyond the experience of “Walking with Our Creator” along the Sharon Creek Trail in our first of three walks, to mark our 157th anniversary.
